Book launch „Degrowth & Strategy“ & ideas fair
21. Juni 2022 @ 16:00 - 21:00
PART 1 – 16.15-18.30
Strategy also means bringing together the many actors of a political process to discuss pathways for change and development. For this reason, the Ideas Fair will organise four thematic tables, each of them curated by one of the authors of the book Degrowth & Strategy: how to bring about social-ecological transformation. A selection of activists, academics, policy-makers and members of civil society will be invited to participate in a series of discussion rounds at the four tables. The central themes will be strategic political practices, trade, food, and energy. Join us to help shape a sustainable future for Vienna and beyond!
PART 2 – 19.00 ONWARDS
The degrowth community has spent much effort making the case for why we need a social-ecological transformation. Now it is time to pool our knowledge and link up with allied movements to figure out how to make transformation happen. An off-shoot from the conference that degrowth Vienna hosted in 2020, our book Degrowth & Strategy: how to bring about social-ecological transformation collects the voices of a variety of scholars and activists on the question of strategy. After 2 years of editorial work, we are now finally officially launching our book. Come and join us for an evening of celebration and discussion – and to get a first peek at the book’s contents!
